Electricity North West says it is aware of an incident affecting homes with the WA3 postcode.

This includes Golborne, Lowton, Birchwood, Risley, Croft, Culcheth and Glazebury.

The electricity firm says this is due to a road traffic accident, with work ongoing to repair damage to electricity equipment.

“This has been caused by a road traffic accident and has caused damage to our asset.

“We are aiming to have everyone back on by 2pm.
