A ROAD has been blocked in both directions following a crash this afternoon, Thursday.
Traffic feeds say Atherton Road is blocked both ways, following the collision.
This reportedly happened between Swan Lane and Leigh Road.
Police have urged motorists to avoid the area.

Live traffic tracker INRIX stated as of 4.40pm; "A577 Atherton Road both ways blocked due to accident between A578 Leigh Road and Swan Lane."
In a statement, Greater Manchester Police said: "Atherton Road, Hindley is closed in both directions between Swan Lane and Leigh Road due to a road traffic collision.
"Please find an alternative route to avoid heavy traffic."
