A PERSON has died after being hit by a train in Lowton.
British Transport Police were called to the railway in Lowton at around 5.50pm yesterday, Thursday.
This was following reports of a casualty on the tracks.
Officers attended along with paramedics, however sadly a person was pronounced dead at the scene.
A British Transport Police spokespersons said: “The incident is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.”
A large emergency service presence was reported on Winwick Lane in Croft near to the train tracks following the incident.
The rail line between Manchester Victoria and Warrington Bank Quay was disrupted as a result
