DORIS CRITCHLEY would like to say a very big thank you to everyone who made her 80th birthday so special. Julia and Ray, Leigh and Atherton Writers, as in Eden Dementia singalaong, especially Mike Fitz, who, in spite of his problem, came to present me with a beautiful floral display. Leigh library Dementia Group, Glazebury Methodists over 60s, Tyldesley's Friday Scrabble group and all my friends, old and new for their cards, gifts and good wishes. The highlight of my birthday week, although not part of my celebrations, was the concert in the Derby Room on Thursday night. The hilarious script, written and narrated by Jan Harney about 'John Willie Lees' and his ferret was enhanced by the Leigh Community choir, all singers great and small. What a performance! Last but certainly not least, to my husband who in spite of his disabilities supported me all the time. Thanks Jack Love you Doris x
