Winnie WILCOCK

WILCOCK Winnie Wife of the late Ronnie, mother to Barry and Ian, mother-in-law to Anne and Julie, grandmother to Matthew, Adam and Jenny, great-grandmother to Mati, Ted, Rupert, Tillie, Wilfred and Reuben. Died 15th September aged 99 years. Winnie who was a life long resident of Leigh, Atherton and more latterly Lowton qualified as a nurse at Wigan Infirmary in 1946 and had a long career in the health service until becoming a lecturer in health care at Fielden Park College in South Manchester. Following retirement, Winnie maintained her links with the health service working as a volunteer in the Dermatology department at Leigh Infirmary. Winnie was also a very active member of the Three Towns Operatic society which she really loved and where she made many very good friends over the years. Winnie will be very sadly missed. The funeral will be held at Lowton St Marys on Thursday 28th September at 1:30pm followed by cremation at Howe Bridge Crematorium.
