DISLEY Derek Derek passed away peacefully in Wigan Infirmary on 1st August after a brave fight with dementia. He leaves his grieving wife and daughter, Pauline and Jean. He will also be greatly missed by his grandsons Kyle and Reece, his daughter-in-law Julie, and sister-in-law Enid. Derek will be remembered by his many friends as a great organiser who made sure everyone enjoyed themselves whatever the occasion.

Derek was a lifelong Leigh rugby fan, he served the clud in many roles, I knew him as "The voice of Leigh RFC' As he was known being the commentator on Leighs rugby matches on the clubs videos for over 25 years, his knowledge of sport was encyclopaedic, I had the honour of being his cameraman from 2001 to 2009 when he finally hung up his microphone, he was a legend of a commentator, knowledgeable, witty, and a great help to me and many others. R.I.P Derek my thoughts are with all his family and friends at thier sad loss.
