A SOCIETY is looking for heroes to save it from going under.
The Lowton Operatic and Amateur Dramatic Society is appealing for new members to join the troupe which meets weekly at Lowton Methodist Church and new member Sue Jackson is leading the call.
She said: "Having recently joined this society after years of thinking about it I have had the most fun in the last five weeks that I have had for years.
"I have made new friends among a great set of people who are not only brave and talented but good fun and supportive too.
"Not long ago this long-established society was on the brink of closure because of lack of members.
"If anyone has ever thought of doing amateur dramatics make it a resolution to do something about it now. We need young and young-minded, energetic people, but especially some men.
"We can't have heroines without heroes and our present heroes are outnumbered."
The group meets on Wednesdays at the church at the traffic lights at Winwick Lane between 8pm and 10pm.
