AROUND 300 people attended Tyldesley's Christmas lights switch-on event on Saturday.
A host of entertainment was on show at the town centre's Market Square where festive stalls were set up for visitors.
Performances from church choirs at St Georges Central CE Primary School and Hindsford CE Primary School entertained the audience as well as children from 180 Dance Centre.
Leigh Centurions player Micky Higham switched the lights on at around 6pm.

A family movie-themed treasure hunt trail also took place with shops in the town centre being taken around various stores where there were prizes up for grabs.
Father Christmas made an appearance on The Rotary Club of Tyldesley with Atherton's Santa's Sleigh to bring more festive cheer to the event.
