A MAN has been charged with murder after a fatal stabbing on Saturday night.
Stephen Brocklehurst, of Billinge Road, Wigan, has been charged with murder and appeared before Wigan and Leigh Magistrates Court today, Monday.
The 48-year-old has been remanded in custody and will appear at Manchester Crown Court on Wednesday.

The man was charged following an incident on Platt Street in Leigh where emergency services were called to the scene at around 11.45pm on Saturday where a man was stabbed in the stomach.
The man, believed to be 32-year-old Phillip Rooney, was pronounced dead at the scene.

A 44-year-old man and 22-year-old woman, who were arrested on suspicion of murder, were released yesterday, Sunday, with no further action taken.
