CROWDS flocked to see the community come together today, Sunday, for this year's Atherton Carnival.
Residents lined the streets as a parade involving vehicles of all sizes followed by bands, community groups and companies based in the town set off from Meadowbank Playing Fields at noon.
Wide smiles greeted those taking part in the parade, who made sure there was a booming atmosphere as they marched through Atherton.
After the parade made its way back to the carnival site on the playing fields, visitors arrived in great numbers and there was no shortage of entertainment.
More than 60 stalls were on display, showcasing the work of different organisations.
A funfair and climbing wall are some of the attractions that children were able to enjoy.

On stage there was a range of performances from acts such as bands and dance groups that kept the audience entertained throughout the afternoon.
The carnival, which was established a decade ago, keeps getting stronger every year.
