A LARGE fire broke out at a launderettes this morning, Friday.
Four fire engines were sent to a blaze at Impressed Laundry on Common Lane in Tyldesley at around 6.45am.
A number of residents were evacuated from the area.
Crews used breathing apparatus and jets to battle the fire and a hydraulic platform was there to allow firefighters to pour water on the flames.
No-one has been reported to have been hurt in the incident.
The fire has now been brought under control with crews expected to stay at the scene for the rest of the day to dampen down the property.
Two fire engines remain at the scene.
Fire investigators are in attendance to establish the cause of the blaze.
Residents have been allowed back in their properties as well.

Road closures are in place.
St George's Central CE Primary School will remain open today. Children will be kept inside all day and windows and doors will be closed until the smoke has cleared.
