MANY retiring rugby league professionals who have played for clubs at the highest level in their career often stay in the game they love to pursue a career of coaching.
But Cory Paterson, who hung his boots up for the last time in September, has decided to embark on a different passion that he has always possessed.
The towering Australian, who played for Leigh Centurions in two spells in the last few years, has opened up his own cafe.

Cory, 32, who lives in Leigh, said: “It is my first business so it is a bit scary but exciting for me.
“I decided to open a cafe because I love coffee and I love talking to people.
“I am also a morning person which helps.
“After my playing career I am now focussing on my business.”
Cory, who enjoyed his time for the Centurions, believes his love of coffee comes stems his upbringing down under, which developed his taste for premium quality brews.
The shop opened on Monday and he was joined by some familiar faces.
Leigh players went to visit Cory, who played as a forward, to give him their support and check out if the quality of his coffee products match up to his ability on the pitch.
The shop, which also offers culinary treats and vegan options, opens its doors between 7.30am to 4pm.
