THE partner of a woman who died in hospital in Wigan has been released by police after he was arrested on suspicion of murder.
Police were sent to the Royal Albert Edward Infirmary at around 9.30pm on Friday and were told a 69-year-old woman, a patient at the hospital, had passed away.
A 75-year-old man from Ormskirk, the partner of the woman, was subsequently arrested on suspicion of murder.

On Saturday, a post-mortem examination was carried out and found the woman died of natural causes and the man has now been released from police custody.
The family of the woman who passed away have been informed.
The full circumstances are still being investigated and a file will be passed to the coroner.
