A COMMUNITY centre has officially opened at the Pennington Wharf development.
More than 50 people went to the Plank Lane site in Leigh to see what the Pennington Wharf Community Hub offers.
The centre will be a space for residents and community groups to hold events and activities.
Seasonal events will also be hosted at the hub throughout the year.
The centre was officially opened by Leigh West councillor Susan Greensmith.
She said: “The Pennington Wharf Community Hub is a fantastic example of local communities coming together in partnership with Taylor Wimpey and providing a safe, accessible space for people of all abilities to enjoy.”
The centre is the first of its kind to be launched by housebuilder Taylor Wimpey.

“Our work is about much more than just bricks and mortar; it’s about building communities, which is why the new centre is such an important asset.”
