PLANS for eight penthouse apartments have been released as part of a £13m development to transform a Grade II listed 19th Century cotton mill.
The scheme at the Mather Lane mill, Loom Wharf, includes 99 luxury, loft-style apartments, a gym for residents and a private cinema and dining room.
Leigh-based property business, JP McGuire Developments, started the regeneration work at the site in 2018.
With most of the development nearly complete and more than 80 per cent of the apartments sold, the first buyers are expected to move in from February.
The final stage involves the roof being turned into eight penthouse apartments.
They will each have two or three bedrooms, spacious living and dining areas, family bathroom and en-suite.
Every penthouse also has its own private roof terrace, giving far reaching views across Manchester city centre, Rivington Pike, the Peak District, and beyond.

An underground parking space will be included with penthouse apartments.
All Loom Wharf residents will have access to an on-site gym and a private cinema and dining room will be available to hire.
Managing director of JP McGuire Developments Jonathan Twentyman said: “With Loom Wharf, we wanted to show people that they can have stylish, quality apartments, with more space and character than what’s on offer in big cities – but without the price tag.
"It was important for us to preserve as much of the heritage of this mill as possible, while making sure we designed and built homes that are comfortable, safe and kitted out with everything people need for modern living.
“Having sold most of the apartments before we’ve even completed the project has been a remarkable achievement, especially given the current market and economic uncertainty.
"It just shows how there is a huge demand for these types of homes in towns like Leigh outside of locations such as Manchester and Liverpool.
"On top of this, with so much investment and improvements going on in Leigh and the surrounding areas – and the fact it was named as the third top property hotspot in the UK by Zoopla – it really is a brilliant time to be investing in property in the area.”
Prices for the penthouse apartments start at £215,950.
