FIVE men have been charged after an investigation into the supply of heroin in the borough.
The following men have been charged with conspiracy to supply class A drugs, namely heroin, and are due to appear at Manchester Magistrates' Court today, Monday:
• Ian Washington, 50, of Edge Green Lane, Golborne
- Stephen King, 42, of Crown Wood Court, Bamfurlong
• John Hayden, 55, of Roman Road, Ashton-in-Makerfield
• Andrew Tait, 38, of Tram Street, Platt Bridge
• Paul Adair, 44, of Simkin Street, Wigan.

The charges follows arrests made on Friday after specialist officers seized a van at Keele service station and took five men into custody on suspicion of conspiracy to supply class A drugs.
