PLANS have been approved to build a pavilion with seating for spectators at Atherton Cricket Club.
An application was issued to construct a single-storey building to house changing rooms and other facilities at the Eckersley Fold Lane club.
The roof will cover seated spectators and there will be also be a scoreboard in the pavilion.
The building will be situated near to the club house.
The proposals were submitted following the growth of the club and the number of teams that play there.

In conclusion the planning report said: "It is considered that the proposal will provide appropriate facilities in connection with the cricket club.
"The proposal will enhance the sports facilities that are currently available.
The design is "acceptable considering its relationship to the existing building and the surrounding uses in which are predominantly sport and recreational based, including Howe Bridge Leisure Centre".
The application was given the green light by Wigan Council last week.
