A THIRD teenager has been charged with murder in connection with the death of Steven McMyler in Wigan.
The 34-year-old victim was pronounced dead at the scene after police were called to Wigan Parish Church at around 7.45pm on Thursday, August 13.
Greater Manchester Police have confirmed today, Saturday, that a 17-year-old boy from the Merseyside area has been charged with joint enterprise murder in connection with the incident.
This teen, who cannot be named for legal reason, was due to appear before Manchester Magistrates Court this morning.
A 13-year-old boy and 19-year-old Jordan Short, of Kirby, were also previously charged with Mr McMyler’s murder.
GMP’s spokesman said: “A third teenager has been charged with the murder of Steven McMyler.
“A 17-year-old from the Merseyside area who cannot be named for legal reasons has been charged with joint enterprise murder.
“He was remanded in custody and will appear at Manchester Magistrates Court this morning, Saturday.
“Shortly before 7.50pm on Thursday, August 6, police were called by the ambulance service to reports of concern for a man outside the church on Bishopgate in Wigan.
“Despite the best efforts of emergency services, Steven James McMyler sadly died at the scene.
“A 19-year-old man and a 13-year-old boy have both previously also been charged with murder.”
