ATHERTON athlete Keely Hodkinson won the Diamond League 800m title to wrap up an incredible 2021 for the teenager.
The 19-year-old has won European indoor gold, the British title and an Olympic silver medal in Tokyo in August.
On Thursday (September 9) she triumphed in the women’s 800m.
Hodgkinson crossed the line in 1:57.98 – which was more than two seconds down on the national record which secured second spot in Japan early last month – to claim her maiden Diamond League trophy.
Hodgkinson's victory gives her a wildcard entry into next year's World Athletics Championships in the USA in Eugene, Oregon.
"It's been a crazy year, I don't think I have had a chance to reflect on it yet," Hodgkinson was quoted saying on the BBC.
"There is a lot to sink in but I have enjoyed every aspect of it."
