AN MP has announced he will be running this year’s London Marathon in aid of a local charity.
Chris Green, MP for Bolton West and Atherton, will be running the event for the fourth time, this time in aid of Urban Outreach, who provide vital support for the most disadvantaged and vulnerable across Bolton.
He has previously completed the marathon in support of Derian House Children’s Hospice, Fortalice and Bolton Hospice
Mr Green said: “Urban Outreach is a fantastic local charity that provides invaluable services to help the disadvantaged and vulnerable across Bolton.
“Every penny raised will really make a difference to Urban Outreach’s work, so please do sponsor me if you can by visiting my fundraising page.”
He had been planning on running the marathon last year and in April this year, but these were both cancelled due to Covid.
The event takes place on October 3. Donations can be made at uk.virginmoneygiving.com/ChrisGreenMP.
