CINEWORLD Leigh is set to celebrate its 10th birthday on Thursday next week (November 18).
The cinema’s anniversary coincides with the release of the hugely anticipated Ghostbusters: Afterlife on the same day.
To celebrate the occasion, the cinema at The Loom in Spinning Jenny Way, will be getting decorating ready for a party, including balloons, banners and even a free birthday cake for the first 100 customers on Thursday November 18.
Cineworld Leigh is also running a series of competitions and offers over its 'birthday weekend' for film lovers including on the spot prizes for the best fancy dress, random in-cinema free gifts.
Cineworld Leigh’s general manager Emma Kilgannon said: “It’s amazing to think that it was ten years ago this cinema first opened its doors. Since then, when our slate included films like The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn pt1 and Arthur Christmas, we’ve welcomed hundreds of thousands of film lovers.
"We even have some of our original team members working at the cinema, albeit now they are in management roles. At its heart though, the experience is still just about getting together with friends and family and enjoying great stories on screen. Here’s to the next 10 years and more of being the best place to watch a movie.”
The cinema will also be running daily competitions on its Facebook page between November 17 and 21 for the chance to win exclusive film prizes. See https://www.facebook.com/CineworldLeigh.
