POLICE have vowed to tackle anti-social behaviour around Leigh town centre and Parsonage retail Park over the coming months.
Officers will increase their presence in the area as part of a joint-operation with the local authority.
The Journal recently reported after a dispersal order was implemented in the town centre and police say they expect to use such tactics, among others, again.
In a statement on Thursday, neighbourhood inspector Andrew Smith said: "Over the next couple of months we'll be stepping up our work to target anti-social behaviour in and around Leigh Town Centre and Parsonage Retail Park as part of Operation Bluefin, our joint operation with Wigan Council.
"This will include deploying additional officers on foot patrol in the town centre, particularly during the evenings, and conducting enforcement work on those causing problems.
"We'll be using a mixture of tactics, like the dispersal powers we used last night."
