A MUM-OF-TWO is using her experience as a carer to assist elderly people in a unique way.

After working in the care sector for 14 years, Jenna Louise has noticed a distinct lack of hairdressing options for the older generation.

With a lifelong passion for hair and beauty, the mum-of-two has been training to become a fully qualified hairdresser alongside her care work for the last three years.

She now hopes to combine her two passions to create a mobile hairdressing service that caters for everyone, giving elderly people the opportunity to feel beautiful.

Jenna, who works at the Belong Care Home in Atherton, said: "I love caring for the elderly and listening to their life stories, and I enjoy being a friendly face who they can look forward to visiting.

"I speak to a lot of older people who want their hair done for weddings, birthdays, or christenings, but I haven't seen many options that caters for their needs.

"Carers often end up helping out with their hair and makeup so it's opened my eye to the opportunity.

"It's another way where I can cater for people and offer a service to help them feel beautiful."

To make sure that she can cater for those who can't make it to a salon, Jenna will be administering her business as a mobile hair service.

With more than a decade developing relationships within the care sector, the 32-year-old is now slowly building her hairdressing clientele with the older generation.

While she wants to make sure she can offer her hairdressing to older people, the 32-year-old will be working with people of any age.
