TO celebrate the Lionesses Euro 2022 victory and recognise this historic achievement, transport firm Arriva has named a bus after England's Ella Toone.
England Women’s Football Team clinched the European Championships following a 2-1 victory in extra time over Germany at Wembley Stadium.
Manchester United's Ella, a former Fred Longworth school pupil from Tyldesley, scored England's first goal.
To celebrate this historic achievement Arriva is renaming some of its buses after the triumphant Lionesses.
People will be able to spot the Lionesses buses serving towns and cities across the UK, including in the borough where Ella's bus will travel.
Cora Woodhouse, director for Arriva, said “The Lionesses victory was a historic day in England’s sporting history and their performance throughout the tournament engaged with football fans of all ages.
"Arriva is proud to be able to honour some of the players by renaming some of our fleet. We look forward to seeing our Lionesses fleet out on the road!”
