A CHILDREN'S special needs support group is moving back to its original premises at the end of the month.
Formed in 2019, Happy Days Special Needs Community Group is a network created by four local mums to look after children with a range of diverse needs.
After struggling to find a group that provided diverse support under one roof, Happy Days provides a safe and non-judgmental space for children to play and parents to relax and support one another.
Originally operating out of All Saints Church Hall in Bedford, the group moved to Trafford House on Platt Fold Street after the church went under an extensive refurbishment during the pandemic.
Now that the refurbishment at All Saints has finished, Happy Days will be moving back to the church and are planning a "big party" to celebrate the occasion.
Back in a refurbished and larger space, the event will include children's entertainment, a bouncy castle, tombola and a buffet.
One of the founders of Happy Days is Beverley Piddington-Parr, whose daughter Bethany has downs syndrome and grandson George has Russell-silver syndrome.
Building a supportive network with other families, Beverley said that the group is excited to return to the space where Happy Days first began.
She said: "We are all really pleased that we get to go back to where we started Happy Days because it's a place that really suits everyone's needs.
"It's a larger space where children can play and parents can relax, chat and offer support to each other.
"We have become one big family since we formed the group, where everybody looks after each other, so it's really nice to be able to head back to the church hall again."
The Happy Days party back at All Saints Church Hall will take place on Sunday, September 25.
Their support groups take place on the last Sunday of every month.
