A RETRO computer museum will soon showcase the technologies of past, present, and future in Leigh Spinners Mill.
Planned to open in the coming months, the Northwest Computer Museum will exhibit a world of technology that will take people on a digital journey throughout the decades.
Collecting a wide range of antiquated and state-of-the-art products, the museum will demonstrate how far technology has come in such a short space of time while also suggesting which direction it may go in the future.
From 1970s computers to Virtual Reality, the Spinners Mill space will boast live exhibitions where people can try out gaming products old and new.
Working alongside similar museums across Europe, the business will also offer workshops for schoolkids and those interested in digital technology to improve their computer skills and education.
Founder of the museum, Joe Kay, said: "This has been a huge project to get going, and is only possible with the help of around 20 volunteers and Spinners Mill.
"We will showcase the history of digital technology and how it has developed through the decades; highlighting how the past and future come together.
"We really want the museum to be interactive and for people to get involved in the exhibitions that we have planned.
"We want to create a place that has a sense of belonging in the community, which is theirs as much as it is ours."
