A MAN has been charged with two offences after a pedestrian was killed in a road traffic collision in Hindley.
At around 9.40am on Friday, November 5, 2021, police were alerted to a serious collision on Ladies Lane, Hindley.
It was reported that an SUV had collided with a pedestrian and "failed to stop", leaving her with "horrific injuries".
The pedestrian, a 59-year-old woman, was rushed to hospital but her condition deteriorated and she later died from her injuries.
Jack Knowles, 33, from Hindley, has now been charged with causing death by careless driving.
He has been further charged with committing an act with intent to pervert the course of public justice.
He will appear at Wigan and Leigh Magistrates Court on Wednesday, February 1, 2023.
