More contact made with victims
During the day, an input was also delivered to officers by the father of 19-year-old Carly Fairhurst to share their family's story about losing their daughter in a domestic homicide back in 2006.
Further to this, officers also reported positive results from the day of action, with partner agencies, including Wigan Borough Domestic Abuse Service, who spoke to 49 victims face-to-face and over the phone.
Wigan's Independent Domestic Violence Advisors (IDVA) also made 54 successful contacts with victims, and will continue to be supported by GMP and the local authorities support services.
Emphasising its intolerance of domestic abuse, Greater Manchester Police encouraged all victims of the crime to report this to 101, or 999 in an emergency.
