A READER got in touch to say what "lovely memories" a recent photograph featured on our Looking Back pages brought back.
The picture, delved from the local archives was taken at a Tyldesley Charity Ball, and dates to 1967,
Journal reader Christine Darlington emailed in after spotting herself in the photo and identified some of the other faces in the picture.
She said: "What lovely memories this brought to me! Thank you.
"Christine (centre of the photo), Rev. Oliver St. John ,vicar of St .George’s Tyldesley, on his right William Hindley and Fred Walker, church wardens.
"Front row, my late choir friend Kathleen’s mum,wearing a long dress, Ada Greenalgh, on her left with long gloves is Mrs. St.John.
"Just behind Mrs St.John is Councillor Bert Greenalgh, I think he was Mayor of Tyldesley at that time."
