A PICNIC and play area is now open to give families the opportunity of free activites during the summer holidays.
With lots of shops and offers at Spinning Gate in Leigh town centre, the shopping centre is providing a free picnic and play area throughout August.
During the summer holidays, this will give families the opportunity to relax and take a break from shopping, while enjoying garden games and making memories.

The picnic and play area is located on the shopping mall, near to Clarks and Bodycare, every day throughout August.
The play area includes artificial grass, white picket fencing, rubber matting, bean bags, mini colourful picnic benches and umbrellas, summer games, a reading corner packed full of children’s books, as well as a soft play and free colouring sheets too.
The centre is also hiding lots of free children’s books at the shopping centre during the school summer holidays. Little ones who find the centre's free books can take them away and read with their families, then re-hide them for others to enjoy.
Karen Cox, Centre Manager of Spinning Gate Shopping Centre said: "Our summer events are extremely popular with families, we love giving them the opportunity to relax & have a break whilst shopping. The little ones get to play whilst parents enjoy a mini break! Everyone is welcome to join us in our picnic and play area during August.
"Come rain or shine, our picnic and play area is undercover on the mall, the centre decorated with colourful bunting, our picnic benches are out ready for shoppers and customers to enjoy!
"Our three cafes in centre serve a wide selection of food and drink to cater to all appetites & budgets & our stores are packed full of gorgeous summer outfits & accessories for holidays & day trips, books & magazines for summer time reading and much more.”
The picnic and play area is open during the Spinning Gate shopping centre's opening hours: Mondays to Saturdays 9am – 5.30pm & Sundays 10am – 4pm.
