A DOG attack on a playing field led to a "manic" incident with reports of armed police, specialist officers, and a police helicopter rushing to the scene.
At around 11.30am on Saturday, September 2, it was reported that a dog attacked another dog on a playing field near Leigh Road.
Initial enquiries suggest that the offending dog had broken free from its collar and attacked another dog in the field.
When the two owners tried to separate their pets, they were reported to have suffered bite injuries and taken to hospital for treatment, although the injuries are not believed to be life-changing or life-threatening.
