A TEENAGER has appeared in court over an allegation of invading a football pitch during a match.
The incident is alleged to have occurred on September 2 during a meeting of Blackpool and Wigan Athletic.
Patrick William Rathbone, of Charles Street in Golborne, is charged with going onto the playing area at a football match.
The 18-year-old is alleged to have committed the offence at Blackpool’s Bloomfield Road home ground.
He is also charged with using threatening, abusive or disorderly words or behaviour within the hearing or sight of a person likely to be caused harassment, alarm or distress.
This was also dated September 2 in Blackpool.
Rathbone was due to face the charges before Burnley Magistrates’ Court yesterday, Tuesday.
Blackpool won the Sky Bet League One game 2-1, thanks to goals from Jordan Rhodes and Kenneth Dougal.
