HERE is a great photograph of factory workers in Leigh leaving after the end of a shift.
The photograph, dug from the archives, shows workers from Anchor Cable Works leaving the factory at the end of their shift and streaming down Bridgewater Street, Leigh.
The picture was taken during the Second World War in February 1944.
Anchor Cable Works became part of British Insulated Callender's Cable (BICC).
