SPINNING Gate shopping centre is aiming to capitalise on the successes it saw last year as millions of shoppers visited the centre.
After the difficulties of the pandemic, cost of living crisis, and declining high street figures, the town centre shopping centre saw an increase of 7% in footfall and a total of 3 million shoppers visiting the centre during last year,
Aiming to become a fully occupied centre, it currently has an 93% occupancy level, and achieved its sixth Green Champion Award for its environmental achievement last year.

Manager of Spinning Gate Karen Cox previously told the Journal that the shopping centre is outperforming other centres of a similar size and has great feedback for its variety of shops and events organised throughout the year.
Almost 80,000 shoppers are reported to have visited the centre over the festive period, which saw festive entertainment, Santa visits, carol singing performances, charity gift wrapping service alongside spectacular Christmas decorations.
There was also a popular play area and picnic area during the summer and an Easter Egg hunt during school holidays.
The centre's sixth Green Apple award has also given it Green Champion status after tireless work to reduce its volume of waste has made a reduction of 71% waste produced on site since 2017.
100% of this waste was diverted from landfill for the sixth consecutive year, while numerous recycling and charity initiatives have helped to further build on the successes of the centre
Karen Cox, Manager of Spinning Gate Shopping Centre said: "We are delighted about the centre achievements made in 2023.
"Our centre team work incredibly hard to ensure our standards are maintained & delivered to a high level, to ensure we provide a warm welcome & excellent customer service to each and every one of our shoppers visiting us.
"The team also work tirelessly to ensure our recycling is maximised, minimising waste whilst helping to support our charities and the local community too.
"We are all looking forward to a brilliant new year in 2024."
