A MAN has died following a road traffic collision in Wigan this morning.
The fatal collision is reported to have taken place at around 6am on Friday, February 23, heading from Scholes to Wigan town centre.
It is believed that the driver came off the road close to Scholes precicnt and collided with bollards and a wall.
Greater Manchester Police have confirmed that the driver, a 66-year-old man, has died following the collision.
His next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.

GMP’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU) are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident to come forward.
They are also keen to speak to anyone who may have any footage, including dashcam, CCTV, or mobile phone footage from the area in the moments leading up to the collision.
