HERE is a great picture we found in the local archives that was taken in Leigh 80 years ago.
The photograph was taken at Anchor Cable Works, in Leigh.
According to archive records, it shows managers and office staff eating in the canteen.
The picture was taken during the Second World War, in February 1944.
Anchor Cable Works became part of British Insulated Callender's Cable (BICC).
