A WOMAN has died following a tragic house fire in Golborne earlier this week.
Greater Manchester Police say that it was called to a domestic fire on Edge Green Lane on Monday, March 11, at around 9.20am.
The police and wider emergency services are reported to have quickly arrived at the scene to make the property safe.
Police say that a woman was found in a "life threatening condition" and was rushed to hospital, where she has since passed away.

A Greater Manchester Police spokesperson said: "Greater Manchester Police responded to an incident at Edge Green Lane on 11 March 2024 at around 9.20am.
"Emergency services were in attendance into a reported fire to make the property safe.
"A woman was found in a life-threatening condition and has since sadly passed away despite the best attempts of emergency service personnel. Her family are being supported by officers at this time.
"Enquiries are continuing to establish the full circumstances but it is believed to be non-suspicious.
"Anyone with information that may help officers with their investigation is asked to call Wigan CID on 101 or 0161 856 741 11/3/24 quoting incident."
Alternatively details can be passed on anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
It has also been reported that a man in his 30s also died in a house fire on Lee Lane in Abram, on Wednesday, March 6. GMP also confirmed that this is not believed to be suspicious.
