TRIBUTES have continued to pour in for a young Atherton man who tragically passed away aged 21.
A former rugby league player for Atherton Dragons, Leigh East, and Wigan St Patrick's, the passing of Gabriel Holt sparked an outpouring of grief and tributes this month.
A former Atherton High, St John Rigby sixth form, and UCLAN student, tributes have continued to be posted throughout the month for the much-loved son, grandson, brother, and friend.
A fundraiser set up to support his devastated family and help pay for funeral costs has raised more than £8,000.

Organiser of the fundraiser, Dan Tyres Harris, said: "I’ve known the Holt family for over 11 years, me, Chris and Michelle became fast friends and I’ve seen the kids grow up and mature.
"I watched Gabriel go from an awkward little boy to a fit, healthy and strong man pursuing his dreams of playing rugby for top teams. Most notably was his recent joining of the Welsh National Uni team!
"To hear of his passing in such a sudden way, is heart wrenching. Words can’t describe the heartache we all feel, the pain and suffering that the family are going through.
"I know Chris will have helped a lot of people in the community at some point, be that fixing a washing machine, picking up your broken down car to fix or running you somewhere for an errand.
"Rarely taking payment or asking for a small amount, well below what it would have cost them elsewhere, all so that others didn’t struggle."
With Wigan St Pat's holding a minute silence and balloon release in memory of their former player, the club also posted a heartbreaking tribute to Gabriel.
It read: "The club are heartbroken to learn of the passing of Gabriel Holt. A current open age player who has progressed through our junior section starting at u13s.
"Gabe was loved throughout the club and especially with his selection for Wales RL students over the last few years. We are forever immensely proud of his achievements on and off the field.
"His humour and love for life will never be forgotten as he brightened up a room and was always the one to try make anyone laugh and appreciate the moment.
"His friendship was long lasting with all his teammates in particular from the junior age group through to u18s. The gel of that group that would bring us all together.
"Our thoughts go out to all his family and many many friends. Sending to love to Chris, Michelle, Aaron, Dominica, Will and Frankie.
"From all of us at Wigan St Patrick’s. RIP Gabe. Never Forgotten."
