AN elderly pedestrian has suffered life threatening injuries after a collision with a car in Lowton.
Greater Manchester Police has reported that the serious collision took place on Church Lane, Lowton, at around 10.30pm yesterday evening (Monday, May 13).
Through initial enquiries, it is believed the pedestrian, an 81-year-old woman, was walking down East Lancashire Road, Lowton when a vehicle travelling in the same direction had turned right into Church Lane.
The pedestrian has suffered life-threatening injuries and remains in hospital.
The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene to assist with enquiries.

The police's Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU) is now appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident to come forward.
They are also keen to speak to anyone who may have any footage, including dashcam or mobile phone footage from the area in the moments leading up to the collision.
