MEET Felix, the nine-year-old from Leigh who is part of dance group Phoenix Boys who got the Golden Buzzer in last night’s Britain’s Got Talent.

Last night, Saturday, May 18, the hit ITV show highlighted the group who were lucky to receive the Golden buzzer from Bruno at their live auditions in January.

Phoenix Boys, which includes members from all over the UK, were jumping for joy after dance legend Bruno Tonioli hit the golden buzzer so hard that he smashed it!

Leigh Journal:

A teary Bruno said how the group reminded him of being a young male dancer.

Members of the group spoke of how it felt like everything was frozen in time and getting the gold was the most surreal experience and the happiest moment of their lives.

The group enjoyed a standing ovation from the whole auditorium at the London Palladium.

Local boy Felix Schmitt from Leigh, is a proud member of the group and said: “Standing on stage in London and seeing the gold confetti fall on us was the best feeling ever.

“I cannot wait to go live in front of the nation in a few weeks with my friends.”

Hindley Green Community Primary pupil Felix trains at Stagebox, Dawsons Academy of Dance & Stage and Holly Hulton Dance Academy in Bolton.

Phoenix Boys currently runs in London, Manchester and Birmingham, and provides supplementary training to budding male dancers with no audition to be involved.

The ethos of the company is to provide a nurturing environment for dancing boys to thrive, whether it’s for a hobby or a career on stage/screen.
