A GROUP of armed men are reported to have smashed the windows of a property and seriously assaulted a man in his 20s.
The incident is reported to have taken place at around 5.55am on Sunday, May 19, with a group armed with weapons reported to have damaged a property on Barton Street, near Tyldesley town centre.
Police say that when the victim was confronted, he was seriously assaulted.

The victim is reported to have been taken to hospital for treatment following the attack, although his injuries are not described as being life-changing or life-threatening.
No arrests have been made at this stage and as enquiries are ongoing, police are appealing for witnesses and information about the incident.
Greater Manchester Police is encouraging anyone who was in the area that morning, or those who live on Barton Street and the surrounding area and has CCTV, dash cam, or doorbell footage, to come forward.
