TWO people were rushed to hospital after a car caught fire in Hindley.
On Monday, July 15, Greater Manchester Police announced that Atherton Road had been closed in both directions following an incident between the junction of Richmond Road and Hawthorn Avenue.
Officers have since confirmed that the incident was in connection with a vehicle fire.
Following reports of the fire, the emergency services arrived to treat the occupants of the car and make the scene safe.
Officers have confirmed that two people were taken to hospital for burns, while traffic congestion has been reported following the road closure.

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said: "Emergency services are responding to a vehicle fire on Atherton Road in Hindley this afternoon (Monday 15 July).
"A car caught fire and two victims have been taken to hospital with burns.
"The road is closed in both directions as officers deal with the incident."
