A CINEMA built entirely by volunteers is bringing back a 'pay as you feel' deal to encourage customers of all ages to Leigh Spinners Mill.

Funded through public donations and built almost exclusively with recycled materials, Leigh Film Factory has been a popular part of Leigh Spinners Mill since its launch in 2022.

The cinema, which started as a small film club in 2013, has welcomed audiences with a wide range of classic films, independent movies, and new releases.

The not-for-profit venue also invites people to stick around its bar to chat about films, and is bringing back a popular deal ahead of its summer screenings.

Starting on Tuesday, July 23, the pay as you feel offer will allow customers to watch a selection of six films whatever their budget.

Hoping to encourage visitors both young and old, the deal will run throughout the six-week summer holidays, and has been made possible thanks to donations from several local businesses.

Running on a weekly basis, the pay as you feel offer will include films such as 'Kung Fu Panda 4', 'Beauty and the Beast', 'Paw Patrol: The Mighty Movie', 'The Princess Bride', 'The Lego Batman Movie' and 'The Greatest Showman'.

There is also a special Saturday afternoon screening of 'Back to the Future' on August 17th.

Kevin Lowe, events manager at the cinema, said: 'We believe that everyone deserves a little cinema escapism now and again, but we know that sometimes it can be beyond the means of many families, especially with the cost of living continuously rising.

"The local businesses that have come on board and covered the cost of the film licenses for us mean that we can offer families a couple of hours where they can leave those worries behind, every week of the holidays."

In addition to the pay as you feel screenings, Leigh Film Factory has an extremely varied line up over the coming months, from the highly acclaimed independent films 'Hundreds of Beavers' and 'Kensuke's Kingdom' to the all time classic 'Lawrence of Arabia' and the controversial 'A Clockwork Orange.
