A POLICE officer has been suspended after a video showed a man being kicked in the head at Manchester Airport.
On Tuesday, July 23, a video circulated on social media that showed a police officer stamping and kicking a man in the head while he was lying face down on the ground.
The uniformed officer is also seen holding a Taser over the man, while shouting at onlookers to get back.
Greater Manchester Police said that officers were responding to an "altercation" between members of the public at around 8.25pm in Terminal Two, where it is alleged that the officers were assaulted while trying to make an arrest.
Four men were arrested at the scene on suspicion of affray and assault of emergency service workers. A female officer is reported to have been left with a broken nose, while more officers are reported to have been hospitalised.
Greater Manchester Police have since confirmed that an officer has been suspended from all duties, and that a referral has been made to the Independent Office for Police Conduct.

A GMP spokesperson said: "Following a thorough review of further information that has become available in relation to an incident at Manchester Airport on Tuesday evening, Greater Manchester Police has suspended a police officer from all duties.
"A referral has now been made to the Independent Office for Police Conduct for a full independent investigation.
"We understand the deep concerns that have been widely raised with us, and will continue to meet and discuss these feelings with Greater Manchester residents and elected representatives, whilst this independent investigation takes place."
