WOULD-BE burglars attempted to snap the lock of a shed outside of a property in Atherton.
Police have issued an appeal for information after the attempted break-in, which took place in the early hours of Wednesday, July 24 on Hilary Avenue, Atherton.

In a statement, Greater Manchester Police said: "It is believed that the offenders have approached the shed on the outside of the property and attempted to snap the lock. Fortunately, this time, they have not managed to gain access to the shed.
"Please ensure windows and doors are locked and lock all valuable items away securely as this has without doubt, prevented the loss of items in this incident.
"We are appealing for any information that may assist in identifying the offenders in this incident.
