Information from Manchester Magistrates Court states that the 38-year-old was handed a 16 week prison sentence, to be suspended for 12 months.
This means that Walton has avoided prison time unless he breaches the conditions of his sentence or another crime is committed.
Walton was also ordered to pay £85 to the Crown Prosecution Service, while the knife is reported to have been forfeited and destroyed.
