THE emergency services are reported to have rushed to the scene of an incident in Lowton this afternoon.
On Thursday, August 1, residents reported that a road traffic collision had occurred around Braithwaite Road and Slag Lane in Lowton.
Transport and traffic analysts INRIX also reported that an accident took place on Slag Lane, which has been closed in both directions while officers deal with the incident.
The stretch of road between Crow Wood Road and The Grove is reported to have been closed, which has resulted in heavy traffic around the area.
Greater Manchester Police have since confirmed that the crash involved a car and a motorcycle, with the rider of the motorcycle being taken to hospital for treatment of his injuries.
Motorists have been advised to find alternative routes.
