THE emergency services rushed to the scene of an accident in Leigh this morning.
Residents reported that a collision had taken place on Wigan Road, around the row of shops near Wigan Road chippy, on Friday, August 2.
Police, paramedics, and fire engines were reported to have been present at the scene, and the road was closed while officers dealt with the incident.
A Greater Manchester Police spokesperson confirmed that a collision took place between two vehicles at around 10.55am, with two people receiving minor injuries.
Heavy traffic was reported following the incident, which has since cleared.
Residents have previously raised concerns with safety along Wigan Road, which has been the location of several collisions over the years.
