HOT favourite Keely Hodgkinson is safely through the heats of the women’s 800m in the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
The 22-year-old Atherton ace was first over the line in heat four, easing her way to the finish in a time well outside her best as she preserved some fuel in the tank for tougher races to come.
Leigh Harrier Hodgkinson clocked 1min 59.31secs, nearly five seconds below her personal best.
The Team GB poster girl will race again in the Stade de France semi-finals on Sunday evening, bidding to reach the following night’s final.
She won silver in Tokyo three years ago and has set her sights on delivering gold this time around.
