FROM Leigh Harriers to the Olympic Games, Keely Hodgkinson made history last night as she became just the third British woman to win an Olympic 800m gold.
Despite the huge pressure of being the face of British Athletics and the 800m favourite, Keely kept a cool head and remained focused throughout her final race at the Stade De France on Monday, August 5.
Running in front of a packed crowd of 73,000 and to millions of people watching around the world, Keely pulled away from her rivals in the final straight and won the Olympic gold with a time of 1.56.72.
